Looks like I am on the blog!!!!  Tomorrow...Thursday, Sept.25... some/most of you will be gone for College Fair...have fun, and take advantage of the opportunity!  For those that are here, I will put you into "teams" that will be responsible for a topic/poster depicting historical data from the materials in the Summer Assignment...please make certain you have all that stuff...you could use the textbook too!  You will start putting things together during class.  For those of you not here...I will put you in a "team" Friday.

When "teams" are finished...you will present your information to the class...we shall "compare" 3rd Hour with 7th Hour!!!!  We will present/discuss on Monday.

FRIDAY...50 Point "Quizzam"...Fill-in the blank...Historical Sandwich...4 Characteristics, 4 Benefits, 13 Colonies Map...3 sections .... matching...tough stuff!  Better memorize!  This will be entered in gradebook for midterm.

Grades were hopefully posted today...check with me if you see a glitch...as soon as possible.

If you have missed class this week...you should be looking at the Gilder Lehrman link...Period 2 stuff, and if you missed a Crash Course video...we watch #1-4!  You need to be looking at your Summer Assignment notes too.

Takehome Essay on Colonial America will be posted on Friday.

Happy and Safe Homecoming!!!

Friday, September 19, 2014

Happy Friday!!!!  Today we finished the Sandwich and got some "notes" that outlined "FOUR CHARACTERISTICS" and "FOUR BENEFITS" associated with the British Colonies...1607-1754.

We will look at the "Review Questions/with Short Answers" on Monday...Have them ready!

Study...memorize you Historical Sandwich notes as well as these items.  You were given a 13 Colonies Map to glue in your notebooks...use your textbook...find a map...label the 13 colonies...then make a key and color/shade the 3 "sections" on the map.  Read through all your Pageant notes..Ch. 2-3 specifically.

ALSO...look at the new link over there to the right...GILDER LERHMAN...and look carefully at Period1 and Period 2 sites.  There is a main video for each period that provide a general theme...along the new AP Themes. Note the sources, links, timelines, etc.  Focus on Period 2 the most...1607-1754.  Looks like a valuable resource...brand new!!!

Monday is Homecoming week..."All American Day" ... I think!  See you Monday...the "AP Grind" has begun...YODA...YODA...YODA!

Hello Glacier's Finest!  Looks like I am going to be gone on Monday as well!!!!  Hold on to your Exploration period M-C and Short Answer exercise until Tuesday.  The substitute will show a video from the History Channel's "America: The Story of Us." It is the last episode of the series..."Millenium" and it summarizes American History...and all its progress...from Jamestown to 9/11.  Create a title page in your NB's with the title..big, bold and beautiful on top of page, and write PRICE TAGS down the left margin...big, bold, and beautiful...full length of page...fill in the "cowbell" of historical progress as you watch the video...it is pretty cool...and has something to do with Yoda I'll bet!  See you Tuesday...Juniors have school pictures on Tuesday...packets are on my table by the door in the classroom!
