TODAY WE INTRODUCED THE "PORTFOLIO" ASSIGNMENT.  WE WENT UP TO LIBRARY, CHECKED OUT THE NEW BOOK, AND STARTED NAVIGATING THROUGH GILDER LERHMAN.

WE ALSO PASSED BY FEDERALIST QUIZZAM...YES, ME FROM THE PAST, 3RD HOUR WON AGAIN!  YOU TURNED IN CH. 12 STUDY GUIDE...(13 WON'T BE DUE UNTIL THE WED. AFTER TURKEY DAY.)

FYI: 

THE DOCUMENT SECTION IN GILDER LERHMAN AND PRIMARY SOURCES ARE THE SAME. MAKE CERTAIN YOU INCLUDE ERA 4 AND 5 (STOP @ 1860).

Antebellum Period Portfolio (100 Points)
Objective: To utilize the sources and tone in on the AP skills while we pinky compromise in class.  You can select any topic, essay, video, document you choose, as you find it most interesting. THIS WILL BE DONE OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM AFTER THE FIRST TWO DAYS HERE... AP expectations=exceed expectations...how do each of these relate to the "isms", "causes", and the "pile of leaves!" 

WE  START PINKY COMPROMISE #5 Monday...We will have class notes-interactive NB materials/Pageant materials...on top of this "portfolio."  Not too hard...but a huge "pile"...of "inflammable material"...I say "inflammable"...you say/do what????????????????????????????????????????????????

DUE: December 12

1. Select one article in "After The Fact" and complete the article summary sheet. (20 Points)
2. Select one Essay (from each Era...2 total) from Gilder-Lehrman...print it out, and complete article summary sheet. (10 Points each= 20 Points)

3. Select one "video" from each Gilder Lerhman Era...and complete the video summary sheet (2 total).  (10 Pts. each...20 Points)

4. Select one Primary Source from Each Era (2 total = 5 pts each...10 Points) Print it out...highlight and draw illustrations in the margins for the main ideas (just like Crashcourse).
5. Create a One-Pager...Antebellum Period 1800-1860) (30 Points...see rubric)

Today we handed back everything except Quizzams...when I get all graded I will post them.  I also gave you a "pile of leaves"...i.e. stuff for the interactive notebooks.  Make certain you have them glued...and organized. You will need to read through them too!!!  A lot of "fuel" for the leaves!

3rd Hour...We watched Crash Course #10 on Jefferson...you people watch #11 (War if 1812) and #12 (The Market Revolution) by Monday
7th Hour...watch #10-12 at home over the weekend.

MONDAY:  

Have Ch. 12 Study Guide completed...that means reading the chapter, and watching the video. I will collect it immediately.

We are going to library for two days...independent study on materials.  BRING ID CARD...we are checking out a supplement textbook called "After The Fact!"

1. Read Pagaent Ch. 11.

2. Watch Chapter Video and complete Study Guide...answer questions left column...and come up with plenty for the right column....you will turn them in first thing.

3. If you have time...watch...listen to Gilder Lehrman Era 4 summary...

Tomorrow in class we will introduce the Antebellum Period (1800-1860)...my 3 causes and 6 isms.
